While many protest that the programmer shortage is a myth, no one disagrees that finding just the right people to hire is becoming progressively difficult. You may occasionally find that perfect person. The moment you do, a slew of companies send your new employee offer letters for a job that pays more and provides more equity participation. Given the IT marketplace as it is, finding a single developer in a crunch is a pain, making no mention of staffing an entire project. You could scale back your plans. You could pay a fortune in salaries and benefits to try to keep all of your staff from deserting. You could lower your standards, hoping that training and patience will pay off in the long run. Or, you could make use of our pre-existing team with the skills necessary to help you accomplish your objectives. You need not waste time waiting for team dynamics to build. You need not fear your group of new employees will bond more readily to one another than the rest of your staff, making integration a significant burden.
