Rosenthal EffectHistoryThe Rosenthal Effect is named after the American psychologist Robert Rosenthal (1933- ) Robert Rosenthal conducted extensive research into the manner in which one's beliefs, biases and expectations can have an influence on a phenomenon under investigation. His work has been particularly important in alerting psychologists to the manner in which they and others may act in accordance with motives and expectations of which they have no conscious awareness.
